Our client based in Cambridge is seeking an Interoperability Engineer to help define the Interoperability group Test processes and problem analysis*resolution processes.
Duties*Responsibilities: Define and maintain detailed test suite. Execute Interoperability testing of new Bluetooth products against other end products on the Market. Monitor and procure third party end products and arrange testing in lab. Document and maintain physical archive of all tested hardware and test reports. Where interop tests fail, create technical specifications for changes needed to our clients firmware where these are a possible solution to recovering interoperability with third party hardware. Project Manage process of implementing these changes in successive scheduled releases of our clients firmware. Investigate routes to automating testing. Key customer relations: Where interop tests fail and cannot be fixed on at our clients end, create technical specifications for changes needed to third party software and communicate these as web based service to subscribers to the service. Manage key customer relationships for top tier customers who wish to subscribe to this interop lab service.
Summary At a simple level this job is buying Bluetooth equipment, playing with it, finding out if it works with our clients equipment, tracking down the problems and chasing up the fixes. In the near future it may also extend into 802.11 equipment.
The role would suit both a University graduate keen to get into the Industry or an experienced tester looking to apply their test background to a new area. Knowledge of Bluetooth is not essential, however an enthusiasm for technology is. A knowledge of networking would also help.
Your experience should be anything from a University degree through to years of Test experience with networking or consumer products will be considered.
